what is wrong with my dog? [SIZE=4] i don't understand her anymore. she barks all the time, she constantly running up and down once i tell her to stop. she jumps and snatches food for ur hand, she bites and jumps on you hard and don't leave you alone. and if u do hold her she moves around a whole lot and bite and sratch you. if you leave her alone in the house you will find cords chewed up and the portable phone off the hook. what can i do she's a year old now and is going out of control please, help before i choke her. |
Do you exercise her at all??? What type of toys are you offering her to play with?? If she is tearing up the house in your absence, I would suggest putting her is a kennel while you are out for her safety or confine her to a small room where she is unable to get into things. Sounds like she needs a little of obedience training. This can be done with a firm strong voice. And be consistent with her. Remember rewards when she does as you ask... :) |
I agree with SnowYorkies' suggestions. I think some obedience classes would be well worth your while!!! |
My dogs dont bite but they bark alot and we are going to go to Petsmart classes. |
bad yorkie, bad Do you have her on good food? Could she be wired up on treats? Maybe wants water or needs to go out? Or have you just spoiled her rotten? Sometimes diet can have some part in behavior? Obedience class could be good be worth the time & money. Is she spayed...being in heat can make us girls pretty crazy, lol.I hope everything gets better soon, hope your joking about choking....Good luck.A little work & patience, I bet she'll settle down. |
I would do obediance classes and introduce her to a crate or a confined area while your away. She can really get hurt if she's that active. Good luck :) |
throw her a bully stick, that will keep her occupied for awhile... |
She sound like she has a lot of energy and nothing to do. I think you need to find her some acitivities such as Obedience class or play fetch. |
I leave my Nikko alone for about 10 hours a day but I keep him in the kitchen with a baby gate along with his food, water, toys, wee wee pad (which he sometimes tears to shreds  )and little cushion. If left alone he would destroy my house, not to mention probably hurt himself by chewing on wires or other dangerous things. You have to start limiting your dog's freedom and be more firm with her/him. Like everyone else said, maybe you should invest in some obedience training. A little patience and a lot of love go a long way too. Good luck!! |
maxi is starting to have this problem too!! she knows she's obviously done things that she wasn't supposed to do b/c she will hide when i come home to her mess. she doesn't do these things when i am at home... obedience classes could be the solution! :) |
Wow Pretty Much Everyone Told Me Obidence Class Is The Sulution, So I'm Going For That. Now When Do I Actually Go Is Problem. Ayy This Crazy Animal Is Driving Me Nuts. But I'll See What I Can Do With Her. No She's Not Spayed And I Just Changed Her Food To Eukabanuba Adult She Use To Eat The Ones For Kids. And She Just Turned 1. And I Take Her Outside But When It's Not So Cold. Lately It's Been Around The 20s |
First of all, I'd crate her when I was gone for her own safety. You could come home to a dead dog from electrocution. :( Seems as though she\'s challenging you. Have you considered obedience training????? |
Ok listen- I had the same problem with KimMee. Your DOG is telling you- I AM the BOSS. You have got to re-assert authority over her. My pup was annoying and she wasn\'t left alone much. She was causing major disruptions at night when my husband got home. We couldn\'t do anything. You really need to kennel her when you are gone. No dog needs that much freedom and that is just reinforcing her authority. One way to start asserting yourself is feed her by hand so that she only gets food from you. Another way which I know sounds annoying is tether her to you when you are home. That means she is on lead and attached to you and has to go every where you go and do everything you do. I am not saying I am an expert but I have had three courses of lessons, some of them private. I finally have gotten thru to my dog. It will take time to figure how what speaks to her but you have to do it. It is hard and time consuming. |
oh yeah- another thing ditto on the exercise- a well exercised dog is more content |
