Housebreaking in 7 days? I recently purchased how to housebreak your dog in 7 days. Has anyone tried this and has it worked? I know Yorkies can be harder to housebreak than other breeds. Also, if you have tried this do you have any advice? I want to try this out while I have 2 weeks of vacation off. Bentley will be 12/13 weeks old then. Am I expecting too much of him at only 3 months? |
He's still a baby, and has no control just yet. Yes yorkies are sometimes harder to housebreak...just be patient and consistent. It will happen. |
7 days good luck. I've had big dogs train pretty fast. They can hold it longer. Toy dogs always took me a couple months. If I can train them to let me know they need to go. I'm happy. And they never got free roam until over a year when there can hold it longer. I don't pee pad train either. I keep pads in the pen but I train to go outside. I never want them to think it's okay inside.Someone is home all the time to let them out.. If they go in the pen they go one the pad anyways.Always worked for me.JMO/JME |

potty training & marking We started potty training with pads at 11wks and it sort of worked for the last 3 wks. It really doesnt seem like he knows what he is doing. Now I am just going for the ring the bell and go outside. every hour except at nite. Last wk he actually lifted his leg on a bush a few times. Last nite i caught him lifting his leg on a pc of furniture and I shout no! and he stopped. But that is a symptom of marking , I presume, didnt think I would be dealing with this so young. This is more challenging than I expected/remembered. I keep reading to get ideas on how to improve my approach. Let us know if you get it down in 7 days! He also doesnt like to just walk down the brick road in the morning, but he loves to run around out on the golf course in the evening...strange. |
