Housetraining in 7 Days Just got the book today and have already read it and I am ready to start first thing in the morning. I have a few of questions that I hope someone here can answer. There are two of them and they are six month old females. 1. It says to crate them at night, but I let them sleep with me and they do fine not pottying in my bed. I really do not want to go back to crateing them at night as I cannot deal with the constant whinning. Is this an absolute in training? 2. Those who trained 2 at the same time. How did you handle taking them both out? I am struggling to get their harness on and leashed before going out the door. Also, once out, they are getting tangled. Suggestions? 3. I have the next 5 days off but have to go back to work on Wednesday for 10 hrs and Thursday for 9hrs. I have a neighbor who will let them out once per day. Is this enough? I really want to stick with the crate but afraid it is to long. 4. My crate can be divided into two seperate spaces, should I seperate them? 5. Good treats for crateing? It says no treats or raw hides, what do you suggest that will keep them busy but that is not something they eat (which will mean they have to potty)... |
The book has been working really well for me so far. If you do decide to crate them again, see if it helps having them near your bed. Mine will freak out if he isn't in the same room as my husband and I. It gives him his space and gives us ours. As far as the treat goes, I give mine one of those Nylabones and a few of his other little toys and it seems to keep him occupied. That's about as much advice as I have Good luck :) |
