Chewing up EVERYTHING!! So...where to begin! Today I fell asleep for a little nap and decided to just let my dogs roam the house ( when I am gone they are baby gated into a certain portion of house). Well...I should have known this would be a bad idea! I wake up and find my new shoes with no shoes strings anymore. They were chewed into a ton of pieces. Then the fun continues and I notice that he got on my couch and pulled my iPad off of the side table and chewed the outer leather case in was in :( I am soooo upset right now! He is almost 1.5 years now and I just feel like he shouldn't still be doing this stuff!! What in the world to do with him Please suggestions for training!!!! |
That's what pups do! My family's beagle didn't stop doing things like this I want to say until she was 2 years old or something. You can try bitter apple spray I think but you don't really want to have to spray that on your shoes and iPad accessories. I would just monitor them when you give them free reign and correct them when they start getting into things they shouldn't be. With Toki, I'd just sit in the living room armed with a squirt bottle and watch TV while she poked around. I'd give her a quick squirt with the bottle when she started sniffing around wires too enthusiastically or near sneakers or other no-no items. You should still probably just keep your doggies gated off in a certain area if you can't keep an eye on them! I've lost several pairs of socks and underwear and countless papers just by leaving my pup unattended for not even 10 minutes! |
