Cute obedience story
Well I guess it was three weeks ago, and we were training with our crew. they are all at different levels of obedience from beginner to senior (more advanced levels).
We were practising meet and greet a "stranger" with Razzle, then Zoey, and Magic was "observing" in a leashfree down stay. So we progress from the walk by, then to the brief stop / shake hands, and then Razzle and Zoey take a rest. I go back to Magic and we heel up to our "stranger" for the meet and greet, say hi shake hands, walk away; then we come back and this time I have an excited lilt in my voice and Say oh Wow hello - and walk close to give my human friend a BIG HUG - My arms wide open -= Magic breaks his heel/sit leaps up tail a wagging and starts to JUMP UP on both of us:D:eek:. He is corrected of course, and we both break out laughing,silly boy. I realized immediately why; as a puppy I would teach come to me; by squatting down and opening up my arms wide wide. And of course we hadn't practised that type of Hello, in a very long time. So we retried again, and he did manage to keep his butt on the ground albeit you could see his tail trying to wag side to side;) |
