dog treats Hi everyone I am new at YT! I need advice on what kind of treats to give my 12week old male yorkie named Peanut. He has just recovered from Coccdia.I whated to start crate training and simple commands. |
Cheerios is one that a lot of people have used. There are tons of treats out there (small ones) that work, too. Pieces of Pupcorn would work. It depends upon what you prefer him to have, too. :) |
We use alot of treats. Cherrios, Fruit Loops, Peanut Butter balls crunch (cereal) and then the various treats from Petco. lol |
I know too much of this isn't good but Cali will do just about anything for pieces of Salerno butter cookies. i buy the minnie ones and break them into 4 pieces. |
you can give them small amounts of lean ham or lean turkey. |
Joey is perfectly happy to work for pieces of his regular kibble. For things that I really want to reward (pottying outside, come, drop it), I give small bits of whatever meat we have leftover or cheese. |
My Bunjee is a bit of a picky eater. I've gone through so many types of treats (greenie bits, authority liver, milkbone, puperoni, pet botanica rolled meat and i couple others i can't remember) and thus far kibbles as treats works best. I also got a sample slice of Deli Fresh from Petsmart and used it as a treat in small pieces. Eukanuba Biscuits has also given me moderate success (sometimes he's interested, sometimes he isn't). I get my treats from Petsmart since they have a money back guarantee if my pup doesn't like it. |
I've been giving a lot of 100% natural treats to my yorkies lately. Things like dry beef or lamb filet, natural liver treats, venison jerky, etc... They love it! |
mine likes carrots. i put them in the freezer first |
My Jasmine is 8 yrs old and the only treat she has ever accepted (and I've tried just about everything out there) is Zukes "Mini Naturals" Healthy Moist Miniature Treats. The best thing about them - besides the fact that she'll actually eat them - is their tiny size. I don't have to worry about weight gain during our daily training sessions! :D |
One thing that Samson loves are these dehydrated chicken type things. They are actual chicken strips (thin pieces) that are like freeze-dried or dehydrated or something and the only ingredients are chicken breast and flavoring. He loves them!!! He also likes green peppers and the eukanuba puppy biscuits. |
We use Charlee Bears. They are about the size of mini goldfish crackers, and Loki likes the cheese kind. I get them from PetCo because they have the smaller bag which has smaller treats. You can also order them from PetEdge and other places online. They are very small and claim to have only 3 calories a treat, yet they are heavy enough to toss for training treats. He doesn't seem to ever get sick of them! |
If you want to give your pup something natural, California Natural Puppy Treats are wonderful. They basically have only healthy food in them rather than giving your baby fatty treats. Innova also has some good puppy treats. |
My dogs really like pupcorn and cherios |
