Thanks for the clarification. He gets as much attention as he wants. He's an only dog and all he has to do is jump in my lap for lotsa lovin. At my girlfriend's house he is the dominant one. He jumps all over the Westie, climbs on his head and keeps pushing his butt in the Westie's face. That said, they both get along fine -- dominant behavior but no aggresive behavior. I'll leave the band on at my girlfriend's house except when he goes out. Here, I'll just put it on at night. BTW, should I leave the pads out in the spot he usually goes in the house, or should I take them down? |

If you are training him to use the outside for pottying, and he'll be wearing a belly band, no time like the present to remove the pads and have him go outside exclusively. Whatever you decide to do, duplicate the set up at GF's house, or anywhere (other houses) you take him to. |
Still waiting for the belly bands, but I've ordered a couple of them. I'm walking him now every morning at 7 (:(), and then take him out for a longer walk to get the paper a few hours later. The other night I couldn't sleep, and I went upstairs at around 3am and he had already peed on the pads, so somewhere between 11pm and 3am he had to go, and I already walked him at 10pm. Aside from the belly bands, anything I can do to stop this? How early can I take away his water, if that's a possible solution? Looks like walking him earlier, unless I do it at 3am, is probably not going to help. One success, he has not pooped inside since we started walking more. Looking forward to getting the belly bands. |
