puppy pads It's been years since I had to potty train a puppy. I plan to crate train again. Are puppy pads necessary? I am thinking that puppy pee pads encourage going to the potty on the pad inside the house. Should I just skip the pads because I plan to potty train for outside bathroom trips? |
A lot of people like pee pads and use them. I don't personally like them but I do understand why they would benefit some (i.e. living in a high rise condo, being gone long hours of the day, medical problems, etc). Personally, I see more success with outdoor training and less accidents and confusing rugs for pee pads, missing the pad, etc. |
I have never used pee pads. Dogs potty outside in my house as well as my parents. The yorkies have taught themselves to use the kitty litter occasionally in an emergency. |
If my goal was solely outdoor potty training, then I wouldn't use potty pads. My schedule has always been kinda hectic & unpredictable, so potty pads work great for my pup, as she has bathroom access regardless of my ability/inability to be home to let her out at a certain time. |
