Pee Pad Training I have a few questions about pee pad training. It sounds like a lot of you use an ex-pen or set up where you can have a pee pad in with your pup when they are confined and not allowed to roam the house. When do they start going to the pee pad on their own and using it when not in their ex-pen? Emma will use the pad whenever I take her to it and she has to go and will also use it when she is confined and there is a pee pad close by. When playing with us or hanging out not confined she will still just pee or poo most of the time where ever she is. When we catch her in the act we tell her no and take her to the pad. We do take her outside to potty too during the day but with Wisconsin winters, she will most likely be using the pad more until spring. She is 3 1/2 months old. |
Hi, I have 13 weeks Truffle is doing so well with pee pad on tray since day 1 she came home. I had one tray for her at kitchen first then she had one accident in living room so I got her one more small size tray and put on corner in living room so when all her family is in living she use the living room pee pad tray, also I got her bigger size pee pad tray for her ex-pen so long hours she can use the big one. so far she is amazing girl. try one extra pee pad in different zone of house might help her? Im surprised how much tinkles between her reg.pee on pads! some times keep going pads for just little tinkles makes her enough excesses lol. |

My boys are 2 and 3 years old and I still praise for each good potty, indoors and outdoors. Make sure the pad is always in close proximity, ideally the same room that you are playing or hanging out. If she has to travel far, she may not want to leave the area. If none of that works, you may want to try a second pad outside the xpen, adjacent to the pad inside, just until she get the hang of it. Hope this helps. :) |
