Aggression/training help I have a 3 1/2 yr old female yorkie. I'm at my wits end with her. She started becoming aggressive about 2 yrs ago and we have gone through training for this but it is not working. I do not want to give her up or put her down but she bit our other dog today and had to take her to emergency vet today. (she's fine) she has bit everyone in family as well as a family friend. I was wondering if anyone knows of any trainers in the orange County CA area who specialize in aggression etc. Everyone I call wants hundreds of dollars for one lesson! We have spent over $1000 so far with this trainer but he believes in shock and pinch collars and pinning her down. I don't! |
Personaly...I think your dog should be put down before she really hurts a person. Dog aggression is one thing that can be cured with a simple crate and rotate schedule and constant monitoring. But Human Aggression shouldn't be tolerated in almost any dog breed. Have you exhausted all options? A brain scan, thyroid test, hiring a trainer? If you have and the problem is still happening your safest/most responsible option is to 1. put the dog down. or 2. keep the dog away from EVERYONE. this means the dog is only allowed out when you are home to supervise it's every move and if you have company the dog is kenneled. Dedicate a room to your dog. |
