What is basketball as a trick? sorry i have never seen a dog do this yet but it does sound fun :] Thank you for the suggestions. I cant believe we forgot drop it and leave it. I'll move those two up on the list. the difference between right hand and left hand will be added also. |
Basketball is just a fun show offy trick that is branched off of drop it. I will dig up some of Uni's basketball vids when I get home. Left hand, right hand is also easy and very impressive to show off. |

Might I make a suggestion for a trainer? We use Michael Carmona for Obi and Tashi.. and he comes to the house, it's about ~$40 per class, but he comes to the house and he's good about taking the training any direction you want to go with it. He was super sweet to Tashi and I really like him. Master Dog Training That's his site. If you have a friend or something, he does an additional dog for $25 and adds about a half hour onto the training and I think it's really fun to do with a friend, plus you can split the cost ^_^ |

Thank you so much for your suggestion. ;) I was really considering trying another trainer for Lilo since I was pretty stuck on what else to do. I will definitely take a look at his site! We had a different trainer before come to our house 2 times a week but I've been training her myself lately due to such a mixed schedule. She was great with Lilo and worked really well with the both of us when we used to have her come over. Have you had him teach Tashi tricks before? I was also considering having someone show us the ropes with some new things since we are struggling with rollover. :) and wouldn't mind the support. Like Capt_noonie mentioned we both have to properly learn drop it and leave it still. |

I saw him teach Obi to wipe his paws on the mat when he comes in and "leave it" in case someone drops a pill or something like that. Tashi isn't quite to tricks yet, but that's mostly my fault because I thought it would be a good idea to jet-set mid training >.< |
lolololololol!!!!! hahahaha! i'd love the coffee thing!! Hobo knows the names of 8 or 9 toys and many commands, but the 'come' one, he only does WHEN HE WANTS TO!!!!! ; ) |
Wow!!! the 'leave it' thing with dropped pills, etc. would be great!!! i'm gonna try that! |
Wow! I can't even get Holly to sit! |

Roll over was a bit difficult for us too, but bf was able to get it. Uni only does it one way. Some dogs can to both ways, but Uni can't turn right. I think the trick is to keep the treat close to the shoulder and bring it up around the back. They will try to follow it, causing them to roll over. Of course, many will just turn the head to the other direction. I think you have to do it really slow. Check out this vid. Uni was about 4 or 5 months in this one. Yes she knows a lot of tricks, but bf literally stayed home from work for like two weeks and worked with her everyday to get to that point. LOL |
