Bell training! Wish us luck! I had tried many things, but never the bell. Hope it works for him. Yter's using the bell, do u have any pointers? |
Jake used the bell so much that it broke it in 2. He would ring the bell if he saw a squirrel, bird, or anything that moved outside. I was SO sick of that daggone bell!!! I never brought a new one after it broke. Now he licks my feet when he wants to go outside. |

Yeah to that. Jax learned the bell a little too well. I got tired of being the doorman real quick. I installed a doggie door and now everyone is happy! |

LOLOLOL!!! |
Watch the video on this site. I trained Kacee on them very quickly. I started her right off with them and, of course, she did ring them a lot and nearly constantly as a puppy. Sometimes she would ring them just to get me to come into that room to play, but those things all passed. I love the bells. I have them at two doors and wouldn't trade them for anything. I can hear them all over the house. I started her off by taking her paw and ringing them, although, they say to use their nose. I didn't think she would like having her nose pushed into them.:) She caught on quickly. Poochie-Bells, The Trusted Dog Potty Training and Housebreaking Tool |

I trained my dogs to use the bells. I have the big bells that hang from the door handle. At first, Mylee thought it was a game, but now she only rings them if she really wants to go out. Moka seems to have sensitive ears and does not like the bells, but she knows what they are and mean, so when she wants to go out she goes over to the vertical shades and shuffles them instead so the bells don't hurt her ears, LOL. Either way, it's effective. |
What size bell do I get? |
I wanted to add that knowing the bell system is great for visiting friends or traveling. We can take the bells and feel OK that he will let us know. We just hang them and take him to the door and show Jax they are there. He is so smart!:) |

I use the Tell Bell - Kelston Products for both of my dogs and we love it. Cooper will not ring it unless he has to potty (or get his ball he left outside). Max will ring it to potty and to distract Cooper from eating so he can steal his food when I open the back door:rolleyes: We take the bells with us everywhere we go and it works out perfectly. |

*Another funny story* I use to have a dog trainer come to house to train Jake. She wanted to teach him how to ring the bell. She took the bells out her bag and Jake started doing his dance of excitement. I told her "He already knows that and please hide them, because he is a little obsessed with bells" He spent a large amount of that session looking where we hid the bell. LOL!! |
