Question about puppy pads I'd like to know if anyone else has had this problem.... My 14 week old little girl is doing great with her potty training...it's not that....but when she goes to poop...she squats where it will fall on the pad...but by the time she turns around as it's dropping, it lands off the pad just about every time. It's almost like she's in too big of a hurry to stand still long enough to go. She seldom hits the pad. If the big part hits the pad, she leaves so fast that there's a dot or so dropping as she leaves. I even tried putting a few pads together and she still hits the side. She never goes in the center of the pad. I can use any advice. She's great about peeing, and always goes to her pad regardless of what she has to do, it's just how she goes about it that I need help with. |
Teddy used to do the same thing. I bought the Second Nature litter box (PurinaŽ secondnatureŽ Housetraining Solution) and put the pads in there. No more missed pads (just regular boy dribbles. lol). |
Sometimes Heidi will do that, especially if she is in a hurry. I just got a rug that extends around the edges of the puppy pad. That way, if it does drop there it just goes on the rug and I can throw it in the washer if I need to. |
Is being in a hurry a yorkie trait? :p Kaji does that while lifting his leg to pee. It only happens when he's in a real big hurry to keep playing, or when we're going to go see Missy. I have him piddle before we enter our friend's houses. The lifted tar sounds like a good idea. |
My two do the same thing.... :p |
At 14 weeks.....just be glad she knows what the pad is for...her aim will improve ...she's still just a baby !!!!! Praise her for going to the pad at all.:):) |

My Tessie hits the pad everytime but Sassy tries to walk across the pad, she won't stand still, while she poops and some of it usually hits the floor. The pads are in the laundry room with ceramic tile so it is easy to clean up. But she is very hyper and always bouncing around. |

hummm....Bubbles RUNS from her dropped pooh as if it is chasing her! Or it is some kind of alien....or someone else did it, she does not want to be seen in the vicinity... Cute but aggravating. (emergency pads, she is outdoor trained) So, yes there could be a little bit anywhere she ran.... |
Thanks everyone for the advice and replies. I do praise her when she goes to her puppy pad. She's extremely good at house training...since I've had her (6 weeks) She's had 2 accidents. I will also check out the tray to put the pads in and see how that works. Thanks guys! All of you have adorable babies! |
Mine will pee on the pad but she won't poop on it. I can also take her outside and sometimes she will go and other times she won't, then comes back inside and poops on the floor just as soon as she comes in. The little stinker knows that she has done something wrong because she lays her ears back and drops her head and try's to hide! :p She has been a lot harder to potty train than my first Yorkie Toto. |
