Barking at strangers Hi. I have a question regarding my baby, Belle. She is a little over a year, and we got her when she was about 7 months old. When we are walking her or if new people come around her, she will bark and usually not stop for most of the time. I wanted to know if I just keep walking her and let her bark, or do I need to do something else. Thanks you all for your input. I love her so much and want to help her not be so afraid of people. __________________ :2hearts2::2hearts2:Shari and Belle:2hearts2::2hearts2: |
I have taught mine the quiet command- I don't really mind them barking at strangers, especially strangers who come into the apartment- as long as they stop as soon as I tell them to. Armani is very good- he will stop immediately on command, Chloe still needs some work, if she is really worked up about someone new coming inside she sometimes needs to be removed from the situation before she stops, although she is usually much better outside. |
How did you teach the quiet command? I read that you say bark when they are barking and quiet when they stop barking. I'm not sure if I am doing it right, or if I am just not consistent enough. |
