2 yorkie pups fighting Hi, we recently purchased 2 yorkie pups, Milo and Minnie. We are very excited and these are two dogs from separate litters and separate parents. We've had Milo about 3 weeks and we got Minnie last night. Since we brought Minnie home, Milo has not stopped biting her. I don't believe it's playing. He bit her ear very hard and then dragged her by her neck a few feet. I am concerned we won't be able to keep both puppies. If someone can offer advice it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. |
Welcome, You can try spraying him with a water bottle every time he goes after her, not a fine mist one but a good strong sprayer. Be careful not to get it in his eyes or ears though and not soaked or anything drastic like that. Just a few quick squirts and a firm NO! Best of Luck! |
Two babies at once that's brave one little one at a time was lots for me but I have to say just be patient you'll blink one day and you little furfamily will be perfect |

I have a question? When you brought Minnie home Did you bathe her before introducing her to Milo? I did this before introducing Patti to Sassy. I have been told if you do that they think that they are one of the same litter because they smell alike. My girls have been best friends from day one. I know it sounds crazy but you might try it bathe them both. Milo first then minnie the reasoning for that is that Milo was there first. I have to always bathe Sassy first because she gets mad if Patti is first. It makes no sense to me but I know it does work. I can't hurt to give it a try. Linda,Sassy and Patti |
I have 4 Yorkies, I got Tessie first, she is now 2 years old, I got 2 males after her they are 2 and 18 months now. I brought in another female 6 months ago. My other dogs hated her, (she has the same parents as my 2 male dogs). I had to be with her at all times when she was with them. Her name is Sassy, even though she was a puppy she would attack Tessie and bite on her constantly.Tessie would not fight back.I started putting Sassy in the laundry room in timeout when she did this. I almost took Sassy back to the breeder because I was afraid the dogs would never like her. Sassy will take Calvin by his collar and drag him around on the hardwood floors but she is only playing. I know your pups are very young ,you will just have to only let them be together when they are supervised. It will take time but they will eventually come to love each other. You always have to keep Milo first and make sure he knows he is loved and not being replaced. All of my dogs are spayed/neutered and this also helps. |
