How many babies are potty trained? ok let all be honest, how may of us has or had babies that were potty trained at 12-16 weeks? Hayley is 14 weeks today and she has good days that she hits the pad all day then she has days that she acts like she dont know what the pee pads are for. I have been at this very consisitantley since the day I got her at 7 weeks of age. I sometimes wonder if its just me doing somethning wrong or if Hayley is just to stubburn. If I close the door in the room where I want her to use the pads then she will go on them but if she not in the room with the pads or I am not standing right over her telling her to pee pee then sometimes she dont use them. Has anyone else had this problem and how long did it take to get your baby trained? Any suggestions PLEASE |
Well Tucker is 17 weeks today and he has had like 1 accident in the past month until I brought Maddie home... She has been here since Friday morning and he has had atleast 6 accidents... I train to potty outside and he is still going outside so I am not sure why he is doing it now... I have never potty pad trained them so I do not know how that works but when she does miss the pad, does she go to the same spot each time that she has her accident or wherever she is standing at the time...I wish I could help you as much as I wish someone could help me.......I think that I have post partum depression!!! LOL!! |
I can't imagine ANYONE that had a yorkie at any age that didn't have the occasional accident :D We pee pee pad trained our pups and they (all six) did awesome..but did they hit it every single time...NO. The two we kept are about eight months old now and they still have accidents so we are trying the belly bands (plus we just had the carpets cleaned) while we are training them to go outside. Bitsy was trained really well when we got her at three years of age and Bentley we got as a pup and he wasn't trained really well until almost a year old. |
Cali is 22 weeks and is pretty much wee wee pad trained. When I got her at 9 weeks she had about 1-2 accidents a day mostly my fault for not watching her closely. Since she was about 16 weeks she has had maybe one accident a week if that. At first she wouldn't poop on the pads but since she was about 14 weeks she poops on the pads. I use the Jump Sart pads and they are great. I never figured I would get her traines so early. |
Lucky is 9 months old & still has the very occasional accident. I would say he's about 98% potty trained. He's really very good. The only time he really goes in the house is in the morning before I fully wake up & can take him out. But that is still very occasional. I would say about the 6 month mark is when they are about 98% trained. Good luck! :aimeeyork |
Sherry Dee, I distinctly remember thinking when Joey was that age that he was just *never* going to get it! I was sure I was a failure at housebreaking and then in a couple more weeks, it was like a lightbulb went on for him. By 4 1/2 months, he was 98% reliable. At that point (& still now at 5 1/2 months), the only time he goes inside is on his papers first thing in the morning before I get up. If Hayley is having trouble going to another room to use her pee pads, I'd try putting some in every room that she's in. Puppies can't hold it for very long! |
Has anyone done crate training? I am trying to crate train Rambo. He is good in there, when he wakes up in the middle of the night. I take him outside and he goes, and he goes back into his crate. Also we go first thing in the morning when he wakes me up  . But I want to put him on my schedule that I have for work. Any suggestions? I know it will take time and I have learned a lot in the past 3 days that I have him. Thanks |
Rebel was pretty much trained at 4 months. Gracie was closer to 14 months. But then again, I have a doggie door that I swear by! |
