I did not say they were not a huge responsibility as seen and bolded in red above.
However, once again, I don't think the owner is being irresponible. Irresponsible would be letting the problem "fix itself" and the dog would eventually attack someone besides her children. Or, letting it happen and not seeking advice.
Whatever the case may be, I'm happy the OP is seeking advice on how to fix the issue whether it be on here or through a local behavioral specialist.
