Need some potty training advice. Hi, I have a 4 month old female Yorkie pup-'Coco'. I've had her home for a month. From day one, I put down the pee pad. She's at the point now, where I can bring her in the room with the pad, tell her to 'go potty', and she'll do just that. She'll even 'go' without me telling her to. My question is-How do I get her to let me know when she's in her ex-pen (or elsewhere) that she needs to go to the pad??? I put her in a crate when I can't watch her and take her to the pad as soon as she comes out, wakes up, after playing, etc. She's great, as long as I bring her to the pad. I had a Yorkie for 15 yrs. and she always went to her pad, but I can't remember how I got her to do it in the first place. Any advice would be so appreciated. Thanks, in advance. Pam |
Some give treats when the pup potties, and some end up faking a potty to get the treat. But they do tell you about it! She's still very young, you may be taking her there enough that she doesn't feel like she has to 'go ' bad enough to let you know... |
