Teaching your dog NOT to pee outside? Apartment living is always creating new training challenges. Is it possible to teach the dogs NOT to pee on the balcony? It is technically outside- and they grew up in NYC so they are used to peeing on hard surfaces like concrete/wood/ gravel/ etc. The balcony is on the second floor so if they pee it is going to trickle down onto the downstairs neighbors balcony- NOT good, obviously! Right now, I make them pee before going out there, but since the weather is nice and we may be spending longer periods of time out there, is there a way to designate it a "no potty" zone? |
That's good question. What if you put a pee pad out there or one of those little patches of grass so they will know to go there and not randomly on the balcony? |
The only thing I could think of was to put her Potty Patch out there. We haven't been outside that often yet, but have had mixed success. I'll take it, as that's better than none! Or what if you put some of that indoor/outdoor carpet down out there? Not that pretty, but wouldn't really be noticeable from below, then maybe they would associate that with being in the house. |
I too will try this as i am already too much frustrated with cleaning my carpets.. |
