Yorkie holding her urine My Mia is 2 years old. She only pees once or twice a day. I think she holds her urine because sometimes she doesn't unrinate often and then can't control it if she gets excited or is away from her wee wee pad. What is the reason she would do this??? I am very concerned. |
Was she scolded alot when you were training her and she had an accident? You said you're using pee pads, which is fine, but can you take her outside to go also? The peeing when she's excited is most likely submissive urination and desn't necessarily mean it's because she's holding it in, but it can be helped by getting her to keep her bladder more empty. I'd try taking her outside to potty if you can or maybe move the pee pad to a different location. Does she poop putside or on the pad? Some dogs just don't like the pads and prefer to go outside. See if taking her out more helps and if not, talk to your vet about checking her for a possible UTI, that usually causes them to go more, not less, but if it hurts when she goes, that could cause her to try to "hold it in". Good luck:D |
