Urine odor How do I get rid of Urine Odor in hardwood floors ???.....I've tried Natures Miricle....wasn't impressed. Any reccomendations |
Hmmmmm.... Sounds like you need a Scentsy warmer!! LOL Actually I was thinking about that spray in the blue bottle but my brain is blanking on the name right now. Not sure if it is safe on Hardwood floors though either. Good Luck! |
Once the wood has absorbed urine, I don't think there is anything you can do to remove that odor. Has the wood turned black? That is what happened to my wood floors in a few spots. I now have all tile in my home....if wood is properly sealed it is not a problem...but it is still high maintenance. If I were you, I would just have that spot replaced...and talk with someone about sealing your floors so you can prevent it from happening again. Good luck! |

Thanks for the link, and the responses....it was a warm day today, and the odor is rearing it's ugly head:( |

I love my tile floors! :) |
We pulled carpet up and replaced with tile. Love the tile, can mop anytime. I usually mop once a day and change potty pads 2x a day. |
My Carpet guy says to use deluded bleach. |
Tile is the only way to go in the warm and humid climates. Make sure that the grout lines are well sealed so the "p" does not darken it. Mop with vinegar water 50/50. |
We've had decent results with the diluted Bleach, but it still lingers. We are putting the boys in the bathroom (as small as it is) because it has Linoleum flooring today to see how it goes. Crating is out of the question, Frisco bites at the crate trying to get out, and Codi will just pee in it. This weekend we are tearing apart the bedroom to try and clean every inch.....I did notice that the bedroom furniture is also starting to swell from being wet so often.....these guys are really becoming a serious problem......now I gotta buy new furniture !!!:( |
Have you tried belly bands? |
What are Belly Bands ???....if it's a type of Diaper, I don't want the boys to have Urine soaked Diapers on them for the 4 1/2 hours we are away |
Yes, they are a sort of "diaper". I don't see how they would soak themselves in 4.5 hours. None of mine piddle that much! But, if you find them offensive, I guess back to Housebreaking 101 and cleaning floors. :D |

I've had good success using the vinegar and water method on the wood floors. I also use a Shark Steam Mop for my regular cleanings. |
