Poochie bells Does anyone have experience with using the Poochie Bells for potty training their dog? I am thinking about purchasing it for Marley so she can let me know when she needs to go outside but I want to get some feedback.. |
Highly recommended! I've trained two yorkies using bells. The first I just bought Indian chimes. The 2nd I ordered poochiebells to match my decor and engraved with Dori's name; so cute! It took about 3 months of consistency and diligence to train. Dori just turned one and has been totally outside trained for several months. Sometimes she does get bell crazy, but I know her schedule. Good luck! |
I love my Poochie bells! My yogi never had to be trained on them, he figured them out his 2nd day. My other dogs never ring them...they just pester him till he does. Gotta say though, Jillian will ring them if he's slow to respond. Some negative feedback I have seen on this site, is they figure out really quick how to use them just for fun & to train you to let them out when they don't have to go. My Yogi did this too....but I have come to learn the difference between the "I gotta go ring...with the half-hearted I just wanna play outside ring, or the "I hear a kitty out there, lemme out!" ring. I have a fenced in yard, so the 4-5 times a day he rings the bell he is allowed out. But again he went through the phase that others have complained about...he rang the bell every 10 mins! Get through that phase, & you will love em too.:) |
Thanks for the feedback. I think I'll go ahead and purchase them. Hopefully Marley can catch on to them (: |
Poochie-Bells Hello everyone! Thanks for the nice words about our product. I am so glad to hear that Poochie-Bells has worked for your Yorkies. I wanted to address the "bell-happy" behavior that can happen during training. We suggest once your pooch understands that the bells mean "out", that you only let them out when you know they really need to potty. It is quite fun to get a response from you when those bells are rung, but once they know that you will only respond when there is truly a need, they quickly stop ringing just to get your attention. Hope that helps. Thanks again for your support. By the way, if you "like" our Facebook page, you will have access to a special coupon code on your next Poochie-Bells. |
