Grrrrrr getting really SICK of the pooing :( Okay Ive had my yorkie sense she was 8 weeks old. She will be a year old May 2nd. Bella was quickly pad trained and we had very few accidents until a few months ago. Ive written in about my dog pooing on my couch. We have done the vet, checked for problems no problems. I decided it was a "Im not getting immediate attention" problem with the dog. I love this dog to death but its gotten that I cannot let her out of the crate anymore unless she is right with me. I let her out this morning and she urinated on the pad and then as I was hanging my phone up on the table right next to the couch she jumped up on the arm of the couch and poo'd. I had my back to her but was a foot away. I turned and there she was sqauting on the arm of the chair. While I was standing right there not a foot away. She is no longer allowed on my furniture and when she does get up there when I dont catch her she will poo. Its a fight to keep her off the furniture. Ive tried tying her to me so I can watch for her to sqaut etc.......well sometimes I catch her and sometimes I didnt and come on NO ONE wants to be attatched to there dog 24 seven after a couple weeks I said enough lol. Vet says not to limit her food to a couple times a day till she is a year old well, Im not waiting. She is only eating twice a day from now on. I love this dog but I cannot handle this anymore and Im at my wits end :( Help Help Help :( |
I found my yorkies doing this as well on the bed but just one bed I fig out it was the sent, One accident can leave a sent even after cleaned so the dog will keep going back to those spots try deep cleaning floors and couches, I buy products with the pet oder enzymes, Spray on or wash with and it helped at lot. |
Some couches the seats covers zip off throw them in ther washing machine cold water put back while they are still damp but before you do they do have this spray that deters a pet from going in certain places maybe spray the seats before putting the covers back on ? it's worth a shot . Good luck |
Hi... One thing I see is you let her out, she pees on the pad, but you go to set your phone down. Try letting her out of the crate, let her pee on the pad, then take her right outside to poop. Have treats in your hand before you first let her out of the crate. This has to be a fluid set of actions on your part, as she knows how to take advantage of your distractions (walking away to put the phone down). Reward her for peeing on the pad, and you need to catch her pooping in an appropriate place so you can reward her for that too. Ignore her accidents. I know how hard that can be, but they 'get it' so much quicker when we can be positive and happy with them. Here are 2 threads (with some good links) that may help you with your pup. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...irty-girl.html http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...need-help.html I'll check back later if you have more questions .... :D (Best of Luck) |

Thank you. Just to be clear I do clean the couch every single time she has poo'd with natures miracle and by washing the cushion covers in the washer. I also have been covering my sofa with a thick old bed quilt. Oh I totally understand that I need to be patient lol. I love my little girl. IM just done with her pooing on my couch. Quote:

Thank you. I like the idea of taking her right outside. Now that the weather is getting better here in MIchigan this will be easier to do. Im learning even though its only for a split second, if she is out of the crate she must be watched every second. Good grief I had a child like this lol I should know better lol. We will get by this I know we will. I just hate to replace new furniture :). Quote:
