Male yorkie has gotten agressive towards husband
 
Our male yorkie has recently become agressive towards my husband. It is really strange, my husband's lap is his favorite place. But when the yorkie is on the floor or couch or something and my husband gets up to leave the room he acts like he is going to bite my husband. If my husband turns toward him he backs up but acts like he is going to bite him again when turns away. If my husband calls him he will come and my husband will pet him and all is fine until the next time. My husband has never been rough on him or anything. He wants to be with my husband most of the time, it is strange. BTW he is not fixed.

That is a little odd, you didn't mention how old he is. Is he a "teenager"? First thing to do would be to get a vet check up and make an appointment to get him neutered. Besides being healthier for your boy it will take away the hormones that could be making any behavioral issues worse. Typically these types of behaviors get worse during the "teen years" (just like in human teens) as they are finding their place in your home and in the "pack".

The second thing would be to institute the "Nothing In Life Is Free" (NILIF) concept. If you google it you will find lots of ideas but basically the concept is that the dog has to mind you to get anything he wants (eating, attention, walks etc). This puts you in the position of "pack leader" and stops the "disrespect" of growling or biting.

:D the only time mine does that is when she wants to play...its not a mean bite and growl ....she is just playing. Could that be the case with yours? They CAN be very demanding sometimes...LOL! :aimeeyork

I think your boy sees himself as alpha over your husband. He is trying to keep the "pack" together and letting your husband know that he is not allowed to leave the pack.

One of ours does that to my hubby BUT only when she's brought him her "duck" to play fetch and he doesn't move fast enough for her!!! That is her duck and she means business: duck = fetch time. He's the fetch guy at our house and the dogs know it!

dexter used to do this at night time to my husband when he would come to bed. we stated putting him on the floor right away and ignoring him. a few night spent sleeping on the floor and he stopped that!
