I'm having trouble with getting yuna to bring back the toy closer to me. +++
 
She drops it far from me and I have to get up and grab it. How do I correct this behavior? She is 11 months old and turning 1 year this month.

I would offer her a treat and not give it to her until she is where you want her. Good luck

I tried that. She just drops the toy and goes for the treat. I will spend more time on it. Thank you for your response.

This must be a Yorkie thing, lol. Max did it when he was a pup, but finally started bringing the toy back to me to put in my hand.

Quicksilver taught Thor to "drop it" in her palm using treats. Maybe she could explain more of the process.

Do not look at her, or acknowledge her at all. She wants you to play with her, and eventually she will pick the toy back up and bring it to you. Cooper is 4 years old, and he still gets over-excited and drops the toy about 3 feet from me, sits (we always make him sit before we throw it), and looks at me expectantly. I tell him "Bring it to Mommy" one time, and then ignore him until he figures it out. They are stubborn!

I wonder if that will really work. I tried something similar, and Kaji will "put away" his toy somewhere and then come see what's wrong with mommy. There has to be something wrong with mommy if she isn't chasing or playing, right? :p He'll come paw my leg/arm, crawl into my lap and proceed to give me kisses. I just laugh cause he's so silly! If I try to get him to play again, we start all over. :rolleyes:

Jamie does this also. I thought it was just her. Too funny. I'll try some of the tips explained here.
