potty training i have a 16 week old female she will not potty train for anything i will take her outside and as soon as i bring her back in side she will piss or poop on the floor or my couch i dont know what to do any help please. |
When you take her out let her know it is only to go potty, not play time. As soon as she pees and poops, praise her and then bring her right in. That way she will know what is expected. Then after she gets the hang of it you can stay outside and play. |
I wasn't a fan, or even sure about crate training prior to having our little yorkie...and to be quiet honest through my ignorance I thought it was inhumane, but after doing much research on the topic and seeing how our little reacts positively to her crate I have whole heartedly change my mind on the subject. Read my thread on the trials and tribulations we are having with our little Reeses: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/tra...ectations.html |
I used a puppy pen outside for my babies potty pen. They couldn't get out and play until they went potty. |
Litter box training? Any thoughts on litter box training? Has anybody here tried it? Did you have success? |
At 16 weeks old she is still very young, you really cant expect her to train at this age. You DO need to keep at it though, even if you have to put her on a leash in the garden so she knows it is potty time and not play time. Make sure you throw a praise party when she potties outside! Teething will also set her back in training. |
My pup is also 16 weeks and seems to be doing the exact same thing. I am going with the traditional crate training as well. I want him out more so we can play and cuddle, but I am determined to be consistent with him. He doesn't mind his crate, so we'll see how it goes. I'm learning as we go too... |
