Knock on TV -- He goes to the door. I was watching TV today, and everytime someone knocked on the door, on the show, Ruger ran to the front door barking. Any ideas? I'm hoping he just gets over this by himself. |
My two does it too. If something bumps against the wall, they think it is someone knocking and runs to the door barking. I'm not sure there is anything you can do... If you find out let me know too. :D |
There used to be a comercial with a doorbell ringing on it and mine would do the same thing |
Door Bell ringing on TV There's not much you can do. Dogs have super sonic hearing and can't differentiate between real door bells and tv door bells. I just laugh at my three and tell them there is no one there, they soon stop. |
All 4 of mine do that. Now that my daughter has moved out, if we even mention her name they think she is home and go crazy barking. I figure their great watchdogs! lol |
Cooper will bark and run to the door when he hears a doorbell on tv. This is really odd because we don't have a doorbell and never have had a doorbell. We think he must remember it from the breeder's house. I guess you could try and desensitize him to the sound. DVR a commercial that has knocking and get his attention away from the sound (with a treat, toy, etc). |
Bella does it too...I think all dogs do it...my BFF's Pom does it too. |
Mine do the same thing, especially with the doorbells. The knocks just have them rushing to the door excited. But the doorbell always starts them barking. I think it is because my family only knocks never rings the doorbell. So the doorbell means strangers to them. |
my two both think home improvement's doorbell is their own. or any other doorbell that sounds about the same. away they go outta a dead sleep rushing to bark at whoever is at the imaginary doorbell....*rolls eyes* we just laugh. |
