Crate training is harder on me than spouse To all forum members, Any and all suggestions would be very helpful. We made a huge mistake when we first got Zoey ! She was just 8 weeks, We let her sleep with us in our bed. Now that we have gotten the crate it seems as though I am having a difficult time dealing with the wimpering and constant scratching and yelping to get out. I know she will eventually adjust to the crate. AS her breed likes the small safety of the crate. What do I do My spouse is very angry because I eventually get up and let her out during the period of this. She is now 6 months and I don't think it's too late :animal-pa |
HI :) I know its very fusterating when they cry to gey out, all of mine are crate trained and though it does take time she will catch on, one thing i did was to put them in there crate during the day on and off for periods of time, she is not to old to be trained, do you have the crate in your room ? if she knows the room that may help her to know she is still with mommy. if you keep giving in she will continue to cry and whine , my last baby was 4 months and not trained at all so it took time and patience but he finally got it :) Hang in there and good luck to you :) |
Can you try putting the crate right next to your bed? |
Yes putting the crate in your room where she can see you is key. All the pups that have gone through my house get crate trained as soon as I get them. Put a blanket or something on top of her crate leaving the front area open so she can see you. It makes it feel like a den. Put a blanket in there with her. |
