How to train Maya to brush her teeth? Hi, Maya is 9 months and I have been brushing her teeth occasionally. Most of the time she chews the brush for 20 minutes and thats all, but she wont let me open her mouth and brush them . Is there a smart way to get her to let me do that?? |

I couldn't find a toothbrush small enough to work well with Bailey's mouth. What I do is wrap a cotton cloth around my finger and use that to brush his teeth. I can feel the teeth through the cloth and I know for sure I am getting them all. He gets his teeth brushed about 4 times a weeks, he is 15 months and his teeth are pure white. :) |
I bought this electric toothbrush for Joey. Interplak RTBG3CS Opti-Clean cordless toothbrush. by Interplak, Electric Toothbr at Goodman's Small Appliance & Housewares, they sell it at Target, and it has a very small head. I use poutry flavored toothpaste, and hold his chin hair and put the toothbrush in and let it do the work. I never felt like I was doing a good job with a regular toothbrush. He gets a treat afterwards, and really doesn't fight much. |

The toothpastes I have are Four Paws Pet Dental and Petrodex Enzymatic beef flavored toothpaste. Also I have Petzlife gel, but forget to use it moust of the time:rolleyes: I t is a gel that you rub on the teeth a couple of times a week to prevent tarter buildup, there is also a spray version :) |

I have issues as well with all 3 of my dogs allowing me to brush their teeth. I put a liquid tartar control product in their drinking water, give them dental bones, and get their teeth cleaned about every 2 years by the vet. That is the best I can do! |

my vet gave me a sampler of enzadent toothpaste and it contains a small doggy toothbrush as well. it is chicken flavored so my baby loves it, but obviously, being a little puppy he has to chew on the toothbrush. what i do is put the toothpaste on it, and try to go past all his teeth at least once and then i let him chew on the toothbrush as much as he wants. that way, it is kinda like he is brushing his own teeth. the toothbrush itself is a great thing because you put it on you own finger, so the puppy thinks you are putting your finger in his mouth. Try looking for the flavored toothpaste. My Chewy will put anything in his mouth as long as it is flavored (even medication). |
