Anxiety My Yorkie is 7 1/2 years and is 4 pounds. She appears to have a lot of anxiety. She is relieving herself all over the house. Was recently treated for a UTI but that is better now. She continues to go all over the house. Her licking is out of control. She will spend 30 minutes licking anything I have come in contact with. She has recently been trembling for not apparent reason even when I hold her. My vet has suggested medication. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas. I would rather not medicate her but I feel so bad for her and all this anxiety she is experiencing. I'd like to know if anyone has tried medication and how it worked for you or if there is something else I should try. |
Does she pace lots? We had a working dog like this once, and it turn out he had OCD. |
Anxiety She does pace a lot. I am a social worker and have jokingly diagnosed her with OCD but am realizing that this may be the problem. What can I do for her? Is medication the only answer? |

Well every dog is different but one thing that really help Buster was setting strict routine, he felt very save that way. We eventually did put him on medication but what help most was a strict routine, trying never to adhere from it. |
You need to take this little one to a vet with behaviour training and get some help and possibly drugs to help. JL |
