Treats Just wondering.. any suggested treats I can use for training? |
Zuke's are my... well, Jackson's FAVE! They have the Mini Naturals in 3 different flavors. They are small, about the size of an eraser, and about 2 calories each. I even split them in half alot when doing training so I get even more out of 1 bag. You can get them at Petco now. I always stock up on a few 1lb bags of these from entirelypets.com because they are cheaper and often have free shipping on orders $25+. Wellness Rewards is also a good brand, they are square shaped and bigger so I always just break them up! |
Thanks for the recommendation! I will look into this when I go to my local pet store! |
We use cherrios, small pieces of dehydrated turkey or venison and small pieces of animal crackers. |

I use Treat Ball Treats. Merlin absolutely loves them. They are cheese flavoured. |
I use shredded cheese sometimes (lowfat cheddar or mozzarella)! Not the finely shredded ones, just the regular shredded ones, and one shred is enough to make my dog crazy! |
Sponge biscuits as recommended by our vet and breeder. Sandy loves them. He's getting Cheerios (he's favourite treats in the world!) and peas :) |
I use tidbits of white meat chicken for training new things as this is a high value food reward. For regular obedience that I do daily with my dogs, I use whatever we have on hand - blueberries, carrots, green beans, and lately pineapple. |
My boys' favorite potty-training treats are Zukes Jerky Naturals, Soft & Chewy Buddy Biscuits, and Natural Balance Tillman's Training Tips. I always break them up into smaller pieces so the bag lasts longer. I inserted the links so you can see what they are. :) |
Big fan of Zukes as well..Both of mine love them!! |
