reuseable potty pads
 
hello, how do you wash reuseable potty pads so they dont start to stink?

what i mean is, I wash them and there is still a faint sent of urine on them. over time it will be stronger. How do you get it out.

I don't know that you can get all of the odor out and I don't think it hurts to have a little. Often the training pads have a bit of amonia odor to attract pups.

I've been using these for 3 years and I always put a cup of vinegar in the water when I wash. It really does help to keep them smelling pretty fresh. I wash 3 or 4 together on large load so there is plenty of water to clean them. But if you put your nose close and sniff, you can still detect a hint of urine. I don't notice it in the room where I keep them though.

By the way these have lasted a long time. I just sent an order last week for new ones.

I wash mine in the washing machine either on hot or sanitary with soap and a little bit of bleach. No odor.

Just to be clear ;) - I do use soap in the load in addition to the vinegar - the amount you would use for a large load.

i use borax and a little bleach added to the detergent...and yes there is a hint of the odor...but you never know it in the rooms

I use a little clorox and washing liquid. They always smell fresh.

I have used Odoban and Borax, but a little Chlorox in the wash still works the best.

I use clorox and haven't noticed any odor at all.
