Potty Pad Tray advice/suggestions PLEASE Hi. I use Petco potty pads size 28 x 30 for my two little yorkies to go on. They go on the potty pads fine, but one of them always uses the very edge and the pee goes onto the wood floor. The Petco potty pad tray is for the smaller pads, and now they seem to have come out with one for the XXL pads. The pads I use I think are XL but there is no tray for them. Does anyone have ANY ideas as to what I can use as a try to put under my pads??? THANKS!!! :) :confused: |
Yes, go to Walmart and get a cat litter tray, they are about $5. Fold the pad in half with the absorbent side out (obviously) and put the pad in there. it really helped with Uni's training when she was a pup. She had to actually jump in there, so she knew that was the potty area. |
Well I actually need something bigger than a litter pan, and not that deep. The thing is I have two dogs going on the potty pads, which is why I buy the 28 x 30 size. Something like a cookie sheet would be perfect to lay the pads in, but of course cookie sheets aren't made that big. I was trying to think of something I could use that is 28 x 30 (or close to that size) that I could lay the pee pad in. Any thoughts?? Thanks so much!! |
Amazon.com has lots of trays. I bought mine from there and the really large piddle pads fit perfectly. I had to switch to washable pads though, my pups started tearing up the disposable ones. |
Thanks for the advice!! I also just found out that Sears.com has a Washing machine tray that is 29 x 31. That is the PERFECT size to put my 28 x 30 pee pads in. I hope my dogs doesn't mind the tray, but I have to save my wood floors. :) |
I laid a plastic shower curtain under mine when they were potty training. Maybe try this before spending any money? |
Potty Tray I place puppy pads in a 32 liter storage tote from Wal-Marts I gave $4.50 for it. They are the ones that are not very deep. It is perfect for them to jump over inside of walk around since it has an edge/wall around it they can't walk off the edge. This works great for cleaning can be picked up for a good cleaning. It also helps protect the floors so if the puppy pad leaks then it isn't seeping through to the floor it is contained so that it doesn't ruin floors. |
I would maybe sugggest a clear plastic shower curtain underneath. |

He goes so quickly and I'll pick him up and put him on the pad but the dirty job as already been done and he just chews on the pad lol. Any suggestions?? |
I use the washable pee pee pads and I LOVE them. I buy them as seconds on Ebay. They are often from nursing homes. Obviously you can see they are worn from washing, but they are not soiled. Some of mine are in a lovely checked print. They're pretty cheap, no one chews them, they stay put when you lay them down because they are quilted on the "potty" side and plastic/vinyl on the side that faces your floor. They also come in different sizes. I get the larger ones too. 26 x 30 or something like that. I have 2 dogs that pee pad and one dog that goes outside. Just thought I give you a different idea. |
