Buddy2009 | 06-06-2010 11:27 AM | Just when I thought things were going good I am a newer member here at Yorkie Talk, and just as I thought I understood my one year and 4 month old Yorkie...he throws me another curve ball. Recently he has been more "clingy" and I have noticed almost a "seperation anxiety". He barks like crazy when we leave the house, he barks if one of us are in the car and the other walks into a store etc. He'd never done this before, so I was wondering how I could maybe curb that behavior. He barks, whines and everything! The second part of this is when we do leave him at home, we put up a tall baby gate in our hallway, and he is allowed then to roam one of our entryways, with his big blanket/foam pad on the floor, toys, water and food in this area. The past few days...he's been out of the area, sleeping up on my bed!! Apparently he's figured out a way to jump over the baby gate and trot his little tush upstairs and sleep on the bed! How do I fix that?? When he's left alone, we like to have him in the entry way....I don't think he would chew on anything or damage anything (although a few weeks ago after a visit to the vet, he peed on the couch after I left him out for 50 minutes alone.) I worry that he's going to hurt himself jumping over this gate. Any recommendations on what I should do for either of the issues?? Any help would be welcomed!! Thanks! Tina:confused: |
