Training baits.... I have noticed that many of you use some kind of "treat" to aid with training. My Sabrina is such a finicky eater, I'm wondering what you use to help train your pups? I think she's like the yogurt drops or the freeze dried icecream, but would that have too many calories? What have you had luck with? Thank you |
We used yoqurt drops alot. My husband had alot of luck teaching Chachi to do tricks by giving him little pieces of ham. You could use cereal like cherrios too. |
My Mickey loves most treats. But Minnie is pickie too. |
Mine like cheese and they love it! |
I used Pupperoni sticks for training. It's easy to cut or break in small pieces and Trixie will do anything for those! |
Cheese and tiny cut up pieces of Natural Balance rolls work for us :) |
I have used freeze dried chicken, cheese, hotdogs, commercial brand treats, canned chicken. I have had the best results with Mozzarella cheese, freeze dried chicken and canned chicken. There should be no more than normal weight gain because you will offset what you feed her for meals from what you give her for snacks. Additionally, you will only feed her small little bits for training. size should be relatively small. |
I used Honey Nut Cheerios, he loved them, they were cheap, ya got a whole BOX FULL, ha,, and they are lite.. so ya could give him alot, and he wouldnt get sick..Or full,,which I dont know if he is EVER full! ha I used them in his training classes,, cause ya had to constantly be giving him treats, and I like the idea of one cheerio, rather than other treat things. |
I was at a dog show this weekend in Memphis and Teddy's treats was cooked steaks. :) |
Thank you! I hadn't thought about a lot of these for her. Great ideas and I bet I find something that works. |
at home we use cheerios but in class she isn't interested in them we have to give her something better, so we give her string cheese!! :) and whats good about both of those is your hands dont smell like meat or dog food and you can snitch some if you want too!! hehe |
