Hiya :) I am glad you are motivated... It will work out eventually.. :) We do make him sit on the pad when he pees somewhere else and make him understand that this is where he is supposed to pee.. I even sometimes dip my finger in his pee, rub it on his nose, let him smell it then touch the pad with my finger and point that this is where to pee.. Lately though we have removed the pad as he rips it apart (he loves to play with paper). When the pad is not there he pees in the pad holder every time.. it is soo very strange.. last night we came home really late so we took him in bed with us (this almost never happens). He slept with us and in the morning he started licking me (clearly wanted to go wee).. so I got him off the bed, he crossed the bedroom and went to his room and peed on the pad holder.. GO FIGURE!!! So now I just have to mop his pad holder every time he goes... But still gets confused when he has access to the living room and kitchen and goes wherever he wants... when we are very stern with him he pees in his room if he manages to miss the pad holder... It is all too funny!!!
Let me know how you get on and also, if you have any questions or concerns, write me a message.. we seem to be very much in the same boat! | Hello! :) I put your advice into place yesterday morning and it seems to be making things for the better. After taking him to get his shots, I allowed him to roam the house without supervision while I helped set up for my niece's birthday party. I came in after 10 minutes of being outside and found him walking back to my room. My first guess was, maybe he had another accident. I should have thought better of my boy but began to inspection the living room and kitchen for any signs. As I found nothing, I decided to check my room and that's when I had noticed he had gone to his pad in order to relieve himself. I can't explain how happy I was, as a result, Miloh got a treat and a tummy rub. Throughout the night, Miloh did well on the pad, he only had one accident. It seems to be like Samy is beginning to get the hang of it, hopefully he will let the issue of the paper chewing go. One thing is that whatever Yorkies do, whether good or bad, the look on their face after they're caught is priceless. :D |
