pee pads? Hi! I am a new proud Yorkie owner of Diji he is almost 3 months old. House training is going terribly! I read a discussion where pee pads were mentioned. What are they? And how effective are they? I've been using newpapers and a special spray over them. But this spray really really doesn't work. There is more chance that he will pee on the paper without the spray. |
I've used pee pads for years on my yorkie, she was trained from the breeder on them, she never had a accident on my carpet. They are the same pads they use in the hospital under people, only thing they have a scent in them that draws the dog to it, pet stores have them. |
I use washable pee pads. They are great! If you want to see examples or more info click on the link in my signature. |
p pad training May sound gross but, next time when you clean up, try dabbing a little of the wet paper towel/p pad on to the fresh one/s. Another scent may attract the pup and give them the idea Hey, I've been here before. It's work for me. |
Thanks for the suggestions! I'm going to try the dabbing trick see if he catches on... :) I live in South Africa and I haven't ever seen a pet store that sells pee pads I wonder if I'll be able to find one. |

I also sell washable pee pads and I ship internationally - we would just have to work out the cheapest shipping option for you so if you are interested in any of our products, please contact us. |
Pee pads are great, I would never use paper! What worked for me is putting the soiled pad under the fresh one... she smelled it, and would go right away. She was funny housetrained in 3 weeks. Hasn't had an accident since and even goes pee and poo on command now! |
