Does anyone have any advise for this little problem?? | Marking is different than peeing, they don't mark because they have the urge to empty their bladder, so crate training is ineffective for reducing marking. Getting him neutered is the best way to reduce marking, and he's at the perfect age, you can also have any remaining baby teeth pulled at the same time. If you are planning to breed him, you can train somewhat not to mark, but it's very difficult, marking is somewhat like a sneeze and the dog has little control over the urges. Different smells bring on the urge to mark. Many breeders use belly bands on their male dogs, and some place a soda bottle in the middle of a pee pad to use as a marking post. |
