I think I may have found a solution. Literally just a walk from my work, there is place that will keep pups overnight. They have their own "apartments" and its staffed 24/7. They have playtime also. This may be an option for me until she gets into more of a routine. Its not too pricey either. She gets her booster tomorrow and hopefully she'll be ok as far as vaccinations go. I'm going to set up an appointment and check it out. |
That sounds like a great idea to take her to that place! How handy being right near where you work! |

Sounds like a wonderful plan! :) |
Tonight will be Lily's first night at Dog Day Orlando...she will have her own "apartment" with her own things from home. Its staffed 24/7 so there will be someone to take her out one last time later tonight. It's not the typical boarding facility. She will be just down the block from my work which makes it very easy. We got the ok from our vet and we are so excited. She will be happy to make some friends today...and I'm just thrilled that I figured out a plan for her while I work. What a relief! |
Lily is one lucky pup to have found her forever home with you in the Sunshine State! |

Last night went well. We got there just in time for playtime...I watched her on the monitor. At first she just stood there while all the pups greeted her. She warmed up quickly. When I called to check in on her, she was sleeping in her bed with her toy. I got report that she did very well, no accidents. I wish they had webcams in their apartments so I could peek in on her. Now, that would be ideal. Thanks Jen for checking in on Lily :) |
Glad the first night went well! Yes, a cam would be nice! I bet she was happy to see you this morning! :) |
Aww bless her! I'm so glad it all went well, it sounds like a great place, but do people have to show vaccination certificates etc before they're allowed to stay there? |

Feeling your pain and frustration Quote:
He pretty much refuses to use the pads except for the rare occation when he just does. Forcing him to stay on the pad makes him aggressive. I hate the idea of keeping him crated all the time. He has held it up to 12 hrs and when i put him on the pad he sits down or tries to chew me. I put him in the crate and he cries, cause I know his bladder if full. I wait for him to quiet and try again, and again and I am just making us both crazy. But like most of us, i do not have the time to bath a muddy cold puppy every morning and then make sure he is dry enough to be left alone. I really need him to train on these pads. *head/desk* |
Lily is doing slightly better. She's starting to go within 5 minutes of eating and needs to pee almost immediately after drinking. I am having to keep a constant eye on her. I've laid down some pads where she tends to go in the house. I was lucky today; she went twice on the pad but snuck in a poo on the tile. She is soooo quick and sneaky! She is still having up to 4 poos per day even though we are now on a grain free diet and she eats 2 x day. |
