Waking us up every 2-4 hours! HELP ME!!!!!! Good Morning YT!!!!, Hope your are all having a great day thus far! Fiona will be 2 years old the 29th of this month, she is fully potty trained, and is a very smart yorkie (as we know they ALL are), lately, I'm not sure if she is just enjoying the freedom of not being on a leash with where we are living now, or just having fun exploring, but she is constantly getting us up, or attempting to get us up every 2-4 hours. All food is pulled typically before 8pm, and water is pulled by 9pm....they are usually taken out for the night anywhere between 9-11pm....I know she doesn't have a UTI or anything else could be bothering her. At our old house she wouldn't get up as much as she is now!? I'm not sure if I should try to put her in her crate at night, since they do sleep with us!? Anyone have any other suggestions!?!?! Thanks, much appreciated!!!!! ;) |
If she's not getting up to potty I would ignore her. Can she get up and down off the bed by herself? If not perhaps steps might help this way she can come and go as she pleases. I would put a gate across the bedroom door to keep her from wandering around in the house at night. Then when she's had enough of checking things out on the floor she can come back to you. Eventually she'll get bored and stay put. Hopefully. |
I know what you are going thru. Pixie got into the habit of waking me up every 2-3 hours when my pom was sick the last 2 years of her life. I have tried ignoring her, squirting her, bark repellar nothing works unless I ignore her for an hour. She keeps it up and i give in and give her a treat just so I can go back to sleep. I am trying to outlast her but hasn't happened yet. My only advice is to nip it in the bud so you don't end up like this. Good luck and if you find something that works please let me know. |

Thank you- Yes, she can get up and down off the bed her self, and we keep our bedroom door closed, maybe I will ignore it tonight, and see what happens, thank you so much! |

My conclusion has come down to he doesn't like that the other dogs and humans sleep downstairs in the master bedroom and he's upstairs. I've resorted to sleeping on the downstairs couch for the past month with him just to get a good nights sleep. I think there's just too much going on in that house. Downstairs, he's absolutely fine. But I did try a few things, such as attaching a leash to him so he couldn't get off my bed and eventually he would just cave and go to sleep. That worked for a while but it was a pain. Goodluck! |
Well, that does make sense! I know that Fiona and Honey get along great, they play, lay together, eat together, and sleep together, so I don't know if maybe Fiona is intimated by Honey , or what!?!?!? Or maybe , just maybe she enjoyed being a 1 dog girl! lol. I'll have to see what else I can do! Thanks for all your help and advice!!!!!! |
Bailey does this ever since I've moved in with D and I've never figured out how to stop it. It seems to me that it's because HE can't get comfortable and HE gets disturbed. I too, have tried everything you have with no luck.... :0/ |
Success!!!!!!! Good morning!!!!! Well, looks like I figured out what the issue was!!!!!! (well last night, at least! ) Jeff usually has the heater blaring full speed in our room, and of course I get hot so I'm sure the doggies do too, well last night, we had it on low, and had the ceiling fan running, and guess what!??!?! SLEPT THE ENTIRE NIGHT!!!!!!! Thank goodness! Thanks again for all your help and ideas! TGIF!!!!! |
