Maggie whines a lot! So when I leave Maggie in the crate(I am crate training her) and I walk away from it she starts whining REALLY loud, then almost like a scream if I don't let her out. She also does this if she is on a chair and I get up for a sec..or on the bed..she just wants to follow me constantly which is fine but the whining I cannot take. Especially when it's really late and everything else is quiet here. Is there any way to stop this? |
Oh, poor little Maggie...LOL. Boy, they can sure do a job on us can't they. Jasmine does that sometimes with me too. She thinks she must be with me ALL the time and can be vocal about it at times. I had to ignore her when she started whining to get her to stop this behavior. Unfortunately, at first I thought it was cute, since I think every thing she does it cute, but after awhile it wasn't so cute. So, like I stated I had to ignore this behavior and she learned eventually if she whined Mommy wouldn't hold her. It was difficult but, it worked. Good luck with little Maggie. |
That is how I failed crate training 101:eek:, I didnt mind the expen but the crate thing uurrghh, it made me feel to badly. It didnt work on my skin kids either.. people have that theory of letting them cry in thier crib.. nah couldnt do that either, thats how my daughter ended up in my bed everynight until she was 4:eek:, talk about following you , she would have found me if I hid in the tub.. |
Lucy whines for everything. Whines to get on the bed; to get off; when she's hungry; when no one is playing with her; when she's in her crate. Actually, it's quite effective for her. When I hear that sad little whine, I rush to fulfill her every whim! She rarely barks (which is great) but when she does . . Oh My! The shrillness of it hurts my ears. I prefer the whine!:) |
Brooklyn did that throughout the night when i first got her. She kept me up for the first couple of days so i bought a heartbeat pillow which actually helped tremendously. Now, when i put her in her pen before i go to sleep, she'll whine a little but i just ignore her then she falls asleep. She whines here and there but it's usually after we spend a good amount of time together and it's time for her to go back in her pen. Best thing to do is ignore her and hopefully she learns. |

 Heartbeat pillow = good stuff. I swear by it, and Harley loved hers. After getting one, I finally was able to sleep for the first time in 3 days. |
I am trying to ignore her. She stops after a while and she doesn't do it all the time. Like when I turn out the lights she will do a small whine but then go to sleep,so she knows its bedtime. But if the lights are on and i leave her in there so she can potty-like in the gated area, then she will do it and starts jumping up for me to take her out. |
me to penny whines if shes on the floor and im on the bed or if i leave the room and shut her in or if shes in her playpen...or basiclly ALL THE TIME unless shes right beside me shes 10 weeks old and has to sleep in my bed or i get no sleep if i put her in the playpen to even go refill my coffee she SCREAMS until i come back...it kills me but i know i cant pick her up or she will get the idea ..whine and get rewarded ..nothing has worked for me so far |
