Housebreak your dog in 7 days...Anyone done it? Ok, I got the book "How to Housebreak your dog in 7 days" and started it yesterday...Just wondering what experience others have had with this? |
If it works please let me know. I would have to think of you as my "new best friend"...lol. I hope it does I know a lot of people would be interested :) |
No, but if it works PLEASE let me know....we have been fine tuning with Cooper for about 7 months. |
If it works for a yorkie let me know;) Daisy was house broken in 2 weeks Pixie has has taken her time, but finally at 5.5 months I think she has got it! Everytime I say that she prooves me wrong. so ..........sh............. it is a secret! lol;) |
Rily is almost there, so I'm hoping this will be the key to his success. Saydee, however, has a lllloooonnnnggg way to go. It will take more than 7 days, I'm sure. :p I should have gotten this book several months ago. |

7 days????? Nope! 7 years???? Nope!!!!! LOL :D:D:D |
I don't have my puppy yet. A few more weeks, but this is my greatest fear...that I won't be able to housebreak him. Please post about how this is going and how long it takes. I would really like to hear! I wish you great success!!! :) |
i wish!!!! Had mine since May and we are ALMOST there!!! |
My pups are 5 yrs old and they are not completely there every once in a while there is an accident. They must be slow readers.:D |
The only dogs we were able to housebreak quickly were large dogs. Our first dog was a Shar-pei and she seemed to just instinctively not go in the house because she never had an accident. The next dog was a golden... he was a cinch to train... it was probably about a week. My yorkies on the other hand... that's a different story! |

Good luck and let us know how it goes!! |

Glad I have hardwood floors....:p Anyone want to buy a new/slightly used book? ;):p:D |
Our german shepherd 5 month pup was toilet trained in about 10 days and she was only 7 weeks old when we got her. Alfie was 10 weeks when we got him and he is 4 months now. He was clean during the night from day one but had some accidents during the day. He does his pee pee and poopies outside. We are just about there with the day time now too but he did leave me "a present" the other day so unfortunately i still can't say he is toilet trained yet. I'd try and sell the book on ebay and put the money towards some puppy pads ;) |
Yes. Several years ago I used it with my Yorkie puppy Phoebe and it worked really well. Took about 2 weeks rather than 7 days, but big whoop. ;) I train to the outside, and I can say with confidence...the key is to take them out a LOT. My Zoey wasn't fully housebroken when I got her at just a couple weeks past a year old, last March. I took her out probably once an hour (during the day) for the first couple of weeks we had her. She's been perfect. :) I think the key is to never give them the opportunity to screw up...and tons of praise and hallelujahs every time they do the tiniest squirt. ;) I don't do treats for this...just figurative handstands and cartwheels, lol. |
I just bought this book too, but haven't started it yet. From the sound of it, I don't hold out much hope now. :( |
