Pet odor and carpet stains Hi I don't know if there was a thread like this before but i need son urgent advise. My Yorkie is 80% potty trained and sometimes still has a accident and go on the carpet. I tried products from the vet which is suppose to neutralize the smell but it does'nt seem to work to good. I need some advise on how to get rid of the smell and manage to get my baby not to go there again. If anyone has some advise please all is welcome. I need as much advise and info as possible. Please help ! ! ! Thank you :) |
Get a hold of a black light and find ALL the potty spots. In the dark. When you find them pour "Natures Miracle" on the. Let them sit and DRY on it's own do not blot it up.Then take the black light and check again. If you still see the spot re do the NM and let dry on its own.Do this till it is gone or is a faint spot. |
Definitely best and then when it's all clear you need to give a good deep cleaning shampoo to the carpet. Sucks the damage they can do. When you do a clean you don't really realize how much gets down and under the carpet into the spongy lining under it. That is probably why he is repeating on the carpet. Unless your house is fully carpeted I suggest that you limit him being in a room with carpet until you know for sure he is 100% potty trained. If he is in a room with carpet be sure to maybe have him teethered to you so you can watch him every minute of it. Carpet is just like a soft piddle pad to them. |
You need a product that will break down the enzymes in their urine so they don't keep returning to that spot. |
I use a product called Unique. Seems to work pretty well. |
daylee is right about the natures miracle. I recently purchased an inexpensive carpet shampoo(er) to clean spots in between my proffessional cleanings and as crazy as this sounds, I used pinesol. It really worked~ |
Thank you for all the great advise, i'll be sure to use it. |
I have posted this before and people don't seem too interested. I will tell you this...the product is amazing. There is a money back guarantee on it...but, you will not want your money back! Once a couple of people on YT try it, it will be a winner! This is a Houston business and I just happened to be in a store one day when the salesman was there...he did a demo and I figured I would try it since it was guaranteed. I really never thought it would work because I had tried every other product on the market with not so great results......was I ever surprised! I actually started buying it by the case! I no longer have carpet, but still keep some around for other purposes. Eco-88 Eco-88- pet odor and pet stain remover. Guaranteed! It removes odors and stains like nothing I have ever used! The only issue that you must be careful with is that it will lighten "some" colors. It never happened to me when I had carpet, though. I swear by this stuff! I had once ordered some dog clothes on Ebay and when I got them, they reeked of smoke. A couple had boa trim that could not be laundered. I was so upset and then thought of Eco-88...put the items in a bag and sprayed a little bit lightly into the bag. Voila! No smell of smoke! I had beige carpet and had some pretty bad stains at times due to sick pups..that stuff removed the stains like nothing else! |
Thank you Ladyjane. Where can i purchase the Eco-88. I'm in South Africa and don't actually think we can get it here. Except if we order from the internet but how long will a order like that take.?. |

Wow...I have no idea if they ship out of the country. Probably cost way too much! As for vinegar...I find it ok for floors...never liked it for my carpets. I SO love my porcelain tile floors....I replaced every carpet in my house this past year. |
