I read somewhere to yell "OUCH!" really loud and pull your hand away. It worked on Ruger. He will come back and nibble a bit, but as long as he's gentle I just rub my fingers on his teeth and gums -- hopefully I'll be able to brush his teeth one day. I think the book said they just do this naturally and don't know they are hurting you unless you let them know. Once they know they are causing you pain they will back off. My fear is if they nibble gently on a child, and the child pulls away quickly, there's a possibility they will get cut. |
Lewie is teething right now also. He does bite me here and there, but I say no bite everytime and give him his chew toy like everyone recommends. Sometimes when he bites really hard, I whine really loud (like I'm a dog - for teaching purposes LOL) - and that really starts to teach them bite inhibition. |

You have a dog that pierces lips and ears??? I'd say you were on to a money making thing there. ;) |
