I have to sneak... Does anyone other than me have a Yorkie that they have to sneak around? No matter what I do I have to tip toe to get there because Yoda will cry, bark, and just go on, and on if he knows I am not there. If I get up in the middle of the night to go potty, I have to tip toe there because 3 in the morning he is SO loud he wakes the house up with all of that noise. it is SO frustrating, and I love my baby so much, but he doesn't give me time to do ANYTHING. I can't shower, he cries, I can't potty he cries, I can't do anything without him involved where he doesn't raise a fuss:( any suggestions? Because ignorning him does not help! |
How old is he? And how long have you tried ignoring him? Is he crated when you have to sneak around? or is he loose? |

Jackson never did work out the crate thing. I tried it for a month and it just didn't work for us. I swear - he never gave up on the crying/whining/barking. If he knows I'm in the next room, he just wouldn't stand for staying in the crate. I purchased an ex-pen and it helped out a bit. Now he would stay in the crate if I was in the room with him, watching TV, etc, that was fine but the minute I left the room, it was consistant barking and whining and crying! Ugh! I suppose I got lucky because he became pretty trustworthy fairly quickly so I was able to just let him be out with me. He's been left alone in the house since 4 1/2 months old and has never destroyed anything or had an accident while I'm not home. So I gave up the crate & expen and he just stays in the house now when we leave. But I know most dogs are not like that. I'm not sure what to tell you. Yorkies are very needy dogs! lol. |
i had the same problem with my puppy, they sense you its not your foot steps, i tried a few liitle things like make a point of ignoring your puppy when ypu walk into a room til they calm down, give them a treat when they are quitly sitting in there bed been good, the crying during the night also happened to me i would open the crate door a nd say a firm NO everytime she did it and after about 5 or 6 nights it stopped i relly hope this helps :) |

Maggie is my whiner. She is fine until she hears the hair dryer...then she knows it is me that is up and not hubby. lol Then the whining starts. She knows when I say "ah-ah" and she stops but then she starts up after awhile. I do not pick her up until she sits and is quiet. She has to sit before I open the pen and then she has to wait til I say it is okay to come out. Most of the time though, she will barrel out and do one lap around the living room and run back in and sit---it's like a ritual. Maggie had clicker training in her obedience class so I was able to get her to stop whining, unfortunatley I've not kept up with it but she does understand the "ah-ah". |
I swear my dogs hear me before my feet hit the floor in the morning ! They will start barking and whining to come out of their "room" :) They are fine when DH leaves in the morning , he can even go into the laundry room if he needs to and they wont even stir.....but they know what time I normally wake up and they're like...sheee'sss uuup :p But at night they are fine. We put Chloe in her pen , usually around 10/11 p.m. and Sydney goes when ever she feels like it ( usually around 9:30 she will go into her crate and go to sleep :)) Chloe may whine for a second but she quites right down and goes to sleep and doesn't get up the rest of the night. They know I will not get them , so they don't even try it ;) |
we seemed to be doing really great the last 3 weeks with sleeping but the last 5 nights she has started to wake up to go to the toliet and its up to 3 times a night now,i really dont want to go through all this again any tips?has anyone else had this problem?? |
