Barking problem Ok so here is my problem. I have a almost 6 year old Jack-a-poo named Daisy who is very well behaved. I recently got my Yorkie and that is when the barking started. Daisy started her barking for everything. She wants a toy on the ground she barks, If we go anywhere she barks like she is scolding us and continues for a while. When we come home she barks at us. If my husband hugs me she barks. Basically she is driving me nutts with the barking. She gets along fine with Pixie and they play well together but again she barks even when they play. Anyone got any advice? I am sick of the barking, and the scolding that she gives us when we go anywhere. We even take her a lot with us. Also when I take Pixie to the vet Daisy goes nutts with her barking and gets Pixie all stressed out. HELP!!!! Someone advice needed before I go insane with the barking!! |
I know our trainer tells us to take an empty pop can and put some pennies in it and shake it everytime the dog barks and it get their attention to you and tell them NO!! I also have a sonic sound remote control (not a color) the sound just comes out of the remote and I get to push it when ever needed and I found it works for me. I use it for any bad behavior. Oh and the sonic sound we can't hear it and I bought it for $20 on ebay DOG REPELLER TRAINING AID FOR DOGS , STOP BARKING - eBay (item 400090721498 end time Dec-15-09 21:20:34 PST) it is small enough to carry around in the house to. And it does not shock it is just sound. There is also methods were you put your dog for a time out! I am not sure for how long or were but I know my friend does it this way. Goodluck with everything. I have one dog and she loves to bark but the remote works great for me and for the price you can't go wrong even if it does'nt work. |

My Mack (4 months) did the same thing with the barking. Drove us nuts, mainly me because some times just yip-yip-yip at nothing at all. But the God-send was a rolled up newspaper. I just slapped it against my leg and said hush. It took a couple of tries, but he hates that newspaper! If he sees me pick it up, it's hush. It even works if I have had to put him in his crate (while cleaning, etc) and I'm in the other room, just simpley smack the newspaper against my leg and a loud hush. I even used it once when he escaped from me and was chasing our cat outside. Scared me to death, as he was headed for a wooded area, I happen to have the newspaper in my back pocket, smacked my leg and yelled stop. Boy, you would have thought he'd been shot, he stopped immediately and rolled over on his back. I was able to scoop him up and go inside. I don't have to use it as often now, he knows hush and will usually go into a quiet "chirping" if he "really" needs something. It's much better. Good luck! |

Barking My Yorkie is a year old, and barks only when I sit down. I can walk outside or inside (cleaning, cooking) and he is fine. Once I sit down he starts barking. I tried the anti barking (ultra high pitch) and it worked for about a week. After that, he would look at the machine and start barking again. |

Hmmm do you play and walk your dog enough?? Maybe once you sit down he gets angry and barks because he wants to play? I know with Bailey if i didnt walk her because last week it was -52 degree celcius:eek::eek: here no way she was going outside she has more energy and she is on our backs until we play with her and make her tired enough to relax.;) |
