Oh! And I found a Walmart near my mom's house. She lives like 20 minutes from here but right down the street from a Walmart. I have to check there for a coat for Scruffs! I love the one Jackson has. We'll probably have to restart in a beginner class in agility since it has been so long haha!

Yay! Let me know what ya find there. Our Walmart is a hit or miss.

Maggie is shorter than Buster but I will try putting her on a chair. She will "dance" this is where she will get on her hind legs and twirl around when I say "dance". She will shake but she's very slow with it, same with the high five. She will wave but she's again slow with getting the paw up. Buster is so eager for the treat I can hardly get the words out of my mouth before he's doing the trick. I keep telling Maggie there is more to it than good looks...

Alright, so I ordered the book 101 Dog Tricks by Kyra Sundance on eBay and it's GREAT! I don't even know where to start. There's so many great tricks to choose from and she labels them "advanced" "expert" "easy" etc.

There's this one really cute trick where the dog gets a tissue when you sneeze, and I think I may wanna start working on that one! But there's SO many to choose from, I don't even know where to begin, LOL.

Oh I saw this book before at Barnes and noble and the sneezing trick was the exact one that i wanted to try! Still can't get Uni to limp though. I may pick up that book too, I'm running out of ideas over here. How much did you get it for on ebay?

I think around $12 with a few dollars added for shipping! There's a few listed right now :)

Thanks Britster for the idea. I managed to train Guinness to get me a tissue in five minutes because he already knows "take it" and "give." This would be fun for therapy visits.

Thanks captain noone! Guinness did not like the taste of facial tissue, I think it gave him cotton mouth- pla! pla! pla! :D He also grabbed three at a time so I pulled one out and put it back in the box.

That is just the most adorable thing, LOL. I don't know how much Jackson would like that either... I'm anxious to try but Jackson doesn't do well with "take" and "give" type tricks, ha! We'll see! Way to go Guin!

Wait, so he's NOT named after the beer? That's what I thought. I was gonna respond to you, "My next yorkie is gonna be named Newcastle" (that's my fave beer, yuuuuummmmmmmm)

Anyway, I may try the tissue trick, although we don't use tissues, we use TP for our noses :rolleyes:. BUT Uni can take a dollar bill from me and give it to my bf, or vice versa. We've been trying to get her to do it in the drive thru, but alas to no avail. One of the first pics we have of Uni is of her chewing on a dollar bill. Once she stole a "benjamin" but she gave it back. :cool:

Oh yeah, Guinness is named after one of hubby's favorite beverages alright- a black and tan.

Some of these seniors we visit are real firecrackers. When we tell them we name him Guinness because he can't hold his licker, they're the ones who gets it! :thumbup: We had a couple of nursing staff telling us we shouldn't give our dog alchohol. :eek:

We like newcastle around here too. All this talk is making me thirsty! :animal36

heh heh all the while I've been having my nightly "beverage"

I find Guinness just a *bit* too thick for me. But I do love dark beers. :D

Yep, we play tug all the time, thanks for the tips! He's fairly good at "drop it" as long as I have something to replace it with (a treat, or a new toy). Thanks!

Jackson your a star! Isn't it great when you can incorporate what they already know? I like it when it only five minutes. ;) .... our yorkies are making up for potty training. Lol!

Definitely! I honestly didn't think he would pick up on that trick at ALL, let alone within 2 minutes!! Thanks Guinness for being Jackson's inspiration for the trick! lol. Now I'm gonna have to start working on him bringing it from farther away later tonight. It's so funny, the ones that are supposed to be easy like "shake" and "take a bow" etc were the hardest for Jackson yet the "expert" ones like limp and tissue come easy to him. He's so backwards!

Uni's backwards too. Remember how she was always pulling on the leash? Well we got a retractable leash, like we weren't supposed to, and guess what, no more pulling. :rolleyes::rolleyes: hey whatever works right?

anyway, jackson is awesome, but, I couldn't get the vid to play. i will try again later at home.

I remember that! Poor Uni was shredding her paws. :( I'm so glad you found a solution.

No more screaming too! She has more freedom with the extra long cord, we got the 23' one. The only thing is she gets it stuck around her legs sometimes.

Wow really?!? lol. That's great news though!! Hey, if that's what works... it's totally worth it!

Also - the video wasn't working right for me either, it only played once. I may have to re-upload it or something... I thought it was just my computer. I deleted it, I'll uplaod it again later tonight.

Haha, the only problem is that we don't use tissues, we just use TP for our noses too. If she can break off a square of TP and bring it to me that would be really impressive. :p

LOL, yeah, we usually use TP as well, but surprisingly, there was a box of tissues under the main bathroom sink! ha! Go and buy a box specifically for Uni ;) :p

Remedial Class student checking in ;): Maximo is great with daily life rituals and routines, but he has a terrible attitude when it comes to learning basic commands and tricks. I couldn't get him to move beyond "sit", which he learned only to use against me.

Watching Jackson and Uni in the videos, and reading your progress reports, I have been inspired to start working on my defiant little guy. Don't laugh, but I consider it a minor miracle that Maximo learned "stay" this week, and he almost has "shake" down. He still gives me a look like, "What the heck are you doing to my paw?"

Next is down. Shouldn't take more than a month. :rolleyes:

What kind of cameras are all of you using for video?
