HELP! 2 1/2 yr old pooing in house! Hi I thought my dog was perfect! :rolleyes:but... my dh has found poo in several locations throughout the house. I can't catch him doing it, in spite of trying really hard. I take him out about every 2 hours give or take, and he just pees. If i could catch him in the act, I could clap or something... but he's doing it on the sly! Honestly, he's great, this is the only problem, and unfortunately one that really makes dh crazy. Please someone tell me what to do!!! |
You've just gotta be on top of him 24/7 until he's trustworthy. Jackson will do the sneak off poop thing usually when it's raining outside but he gets free run of the house since 99% of the time, he's trustworthy. Because we've been having more rain lately, I've been keeping away from his usual spots and whenever he wanders off, I'm immediately on him and the door gets closed that leads to the dining room where he likes to go. Just be diligent. Section off a part of the house or something. I live with my parents but I have a separate 'suite' and he is 100% potty trained on my side of the house... when he gets a bit more freedom, I've just gotta watch him more and make sure he stays on my side of the house with the door closed. Also, learn his poop schedule. I know Jackson always has to go in the morning and evening so if he doesn't... no freedom for him! |
Hi! thanks for the advice. I have to put on my big girl panties and be strict! someone else mentioned that i should feed him on a schedule too. I have been letting him eat whenever he wanted cuz he's underweight. but at that person pointed out, eat on demand means pooing on demand:p |
