Starting to get a little tired When I first got Minnie she would sleep 4 hours or longer in her crate at night. Now she seem to get up every few hours and I must admit at my age I get a little tired not getting my needed sleep. If my 6 yr granddaughter wakes up then I have her up the rest of the night she is ADHD and needs little sleep. And Idea what I can do and what I am doing wrong Thank you Carol |
How old is she? Depending on her age, she should be able to go at least 4 - 5 hours at night without a pee break. It may be that she wants out and she knows that if she whines or barks, she will get out. So if she is wanting to go out before the 4 -5 hour I would leave her in the crate and ignor her. (she may whine or bark for a while, but do not cave!) Also, when you do take her out in the middle of night, put her back in the crate immediately after she does her business. No playing, no staying up, no talking, no treats, just business. Back in her crate and back to bed for you. If your g-daughter gets up, then put yourself and her in a different room than the puppy, so you don't disturb the puppy and puppy knows it still sleep time for her. After a while the puppy should catch on that waking up in the middle of night is no fun and temporary, and not worth the effort! |
Thank you Lady Minnie is 4 month in a few days. And I did all you talked about. Last night was another night as it always is anymore but this time it was 2:00 g-daughter and not wanting to go back to sleep so I had to laydown with her. Putting the crate in a diffent room wouldn't make much difference in this small house or I had done it already. I put her in her play pen last night and that worked so maybe I will try that only draw back is if g-daughter wakes up she wil take her to her room some times it a win lose thing here. Carol |
