walking on a lead hi bella wont walk on a lead its so annoying i have to carry her everywhere  i put her on the floor and she just sits there i find myself draggin her but then feel cruel and picking her up please help  |
I would continue to pull the leash gentley but coax her with some treats (small pieces of apple). Everytime she walked towards me I would say loudly but in a cutsey voice "Gooood Girl!!!" and give her a treat. Then I would spread the treats and say Good Girl without a treat once or twice and on the third time give her a treat, Patience. If you give up and pick her up she will have trained you..lol:) Good Luck |
Hello there how old is Bella? You may want to entice her a bit with treats, and when she makes it up to you feet then give her a treat. then walk away again as far as the leash will go and show her a treat again. Every time make her walk a bit further before she gets it. Hope that help. |

First step of leash training is to let the pup drag the leash around behind it. Making sure that the little one does not get tangled of course. Then you pick up the leash and go along with them not pulling on the leash just following on behind. Then the next step is to gentle like suggest that the pup go your way just a little then you go his back and forht until it is no big deal which way he or she goes. Some of these little guys are not happy about someone else taking over where to go and when to go and how fast so take it slow and teach them that life on al eash is not so bad. If they are stuck and will not come step out in front. Turn and face them and toss a party so that you are the best thing in the whole world and coming to you is wonderful then step beck and again then stop amd love on the dog. then do it all again until you build to a nice follow and then turn and walk along alittle and see if the pup will come. Until now they could do there own thing as they like now they are to obey you so go so and ask. JL |
